surfaces

Filled and Polished
The holes of the travertine are filled with cement or epoxy before it is polished. Polished travertine has such a smooth, shining surface that would make it possible to see the reflection. Its use is not recommended outside and inside the bathrooms since exposure to rain could cause the polished surface to be very slippery.

Filled and Honed
Filled with cement or epoxy before it is honed. It has a satin/matte finish.

Unfilled
Since unfilled travertine is pure natural stone without any additives, it is often seen as exterior cladding on buildings and gives highly natural look.

Sandblasted
Stone is tumbled with sand or pebbles to create a weathered/aged look.

Riven
Slate splits along natural planes of weakness to form. This creates a very rustic look.

Tumbled
The process by which stone is tumbled or vibrated with smaller abrasives to produce an aged appearance. There might be variations in colour, but veins and other patterns are generally absent. The result is a floor that feels relaxed yet sumptuous at the same time.

Brushed
A semi-polished, semi-honed finished created by circular brushing motions.

Chiselled
The edging in which straight edges are chipped off stone tiles to provide an aged/antique look.
